12/10/11: There should be a page sometime on Sunday, but it might not be up first thing in the morning. Keep checking throughout the day, though, because I should have it done.

10/30/11: Sorry for the lack of updates. I can guarantee a page next Sunday, but I need time to build up a supply of pages so we don't end up with a one week on/one week off thing. Thank you for your patience. I have a lot of things going on right now that also need to get done!

10/22/11: My apologies - there will be no update on Sunday, October 23. There will more than likely be one next Sunday, however. Thank you for your patience.

9/21/11: Recently I've been working with trying to figure out a different and more efficient system for RSS. Though I haven't implemented anything new yet, I may begin soon. If you see lots of terrible PHP errors or something in the near future, don't be alarmed. That's just me monkeying around with some things.

On another note, I'm going to try and toss up a new donate incentive soon, as well as a new vote incentive. That poor old donate incentive has been up for a long time and it needs to be changed out for something new.

If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions regarding World in Flames, remember to stop by the forums and let me know!

Thanks for reading!

5/24/11: Sorry for the lack of extra updates around here! Just a few things - first, the incentive will update again soon! I need to put a background on that lovely untitled picture featuring Wildblood and Goldfoot. In the meantime, you can vote to see it in its colored-but-backgroundless state.

There also has been a lack of donation incentives, but I will attempt to rectify that as well. I don't know when I'll get to it, but I hope it will be soon! However, in the meantime, if you still want to donate to see the current one, feel free! Any amount, no matter how small, will get you the donation wallpaper.

Oh! And, and--! now WiF has an RSS feed kind of thing! The icon is right next to the donation link up by the header. The RSS will basically show announcements like this and any updates to the header thumbnails. I figured that was just easiest for now, since the thumbnails are cool little previews and link to the stuff anyways and... well, yeah. (I'm sort of new to RSS stuff, so this might not be great, but if you have suggestions let me know!)

Thanks!

1/24/11: There is now an actual donation incentive up!

Just a warning, this is my first time doing anything like this, so it's kind of a crude set-up right now. When you donate and click to go back to the site, it pretty much just asks you to open/save a .zip folder. So no, that's not a hack of some kind, it's just me trying to be nice and give you a reward for donating!

It's an excluuuuusive wallpaper! I won't put it anywhere except up as that donation incentive. I'll try to keep that thing updating regularly, by the way! (Maybe not as much as the vote incentive, but still somewhat regularly! We'll try once a month.)

Thanks for reading WiF and thanks for the support!

Wallpaper - Heart of Spring

1/16/11: Chapter six has begun with a double-update. There's a title page and a story page. Thanks for reading!

12/26/10: Heya, guys! As you may be able to see, I put up a "Donate" button for World in Flames. This way, if you feel inclined to help support the comic, you can! There's really technically no incentive right now of any kind, but if I get donations I will probably feel inclined to work harder and faster on updates - and who knows? You guys might even start seeing a few extra updates here and there when you're not expecting them.

Okay, yeah, I know that's sort of lame. I will be getting real donation incentives (wallpapers, etc.) up early 2011, so look out for that!

If you can't show World in Flames any monetary support, you can still vote at TopWebComics! The link is right up in the header, for your convenience! Money is nice, but voting and spreading the word is also greatly appreciated! Thanks to all for the support!

12/1/10: Well, in the month of November we made it to 133 votes on TopWebComics. This wasn't the 150 I had hoped for, but it was still a decent number. I will not be updating twice a week every week. However, since there were a few loyal and consistent voters who really wanted the updates, I will update Sundays and Wednesdays two weeks in a row. That's two extra pages in December. It would be more, but we just didn't reach our mark.

Thanks to those that voted consistently! We may try this again sometime.

11/1/10: Attention! The month of November has now begun and TopWebComics has reset the vote counts. If World in Flames can get 150 votes this month, then in December I will update with two pages a week - one every Sunday and one probably on every Wednesday or Thursday! The whole month of December! But keep in mind, this is only if I can get up to 150 votes in November.

I'll try to keep the incentive updating more regularly to keep up interest with the voting! Thank you!

9/12/10: Since chapter 5 has begun, we have a double-update this Sunday so you don't have to stare at a title page for a week. Thanks for reading!

8/17/10: I've just updated the layout for the first time in ages! Though I may continue to tinker with it some (mostly just the colors) I think it's a definite improvement and it's far less "busy" than the old layout was. The darker colors shouldn't be as blinding and distracting.

We can all thank L. James for help with a lot of the coding. L. was getting frustrated with my excessive use of tables and insisted that divs would be easier, and so offered to recode it. It couldn't have taken more than half an hour.

In addition to the layout updates, I will probably no longer be announcing new vote incentives or new gallery pictures. As you can see in the header, there are thumbnail links to the newest of each of those, as well as a new thumbnail link to the newest comic page. You can see if there was an update without having to traipse all the way to the archives!

All things considered, I'd say it's an improvement and I see this as a success. As always, leave comments in the forums if you have a bone to pick with me about the new look. I may still have some bugs to work out!

PS: Beware when you enter the gallery or resources. Larger images tend to break the layout. I know they don't look nice, but as far as I can tell they cause no actual structural damage - they just stretch beyond the page's backdrop. I'll see what I can do about this down the road.
